A project undertaken for a national innovation contest called the "Honeywell Freedom to Innovate 2006 contest ". The contest was held in March of 2006 with 189 teams from 15 colleges participating for the inital submission phase of which 5 teams were chosen in the final presentation round. Our team of 4 - 'Heterosapiens' qualified for this phase and went on to win the contest with a prize money of Rs50,000 and a sculpture specially designed for the winning institution.

We worked on the topic "Significant reduction of NOx from automobile exhausts." Our idea was to use the paramagnetic property of nitrogen oxides to separate them from rest of the exhaust gases to reduce the emission of NOx into the atmosphere.
